DHTML Menu Module Creator FAQ

Question ID:
Q3033
Question:
When user clicks on a menu item, I would like to call a JavaScript function or open a new email message. Is this possible?

Yes, you all you need to do is instead of specifying a regular URL for the menu item, enter either:
javascript:function(parameters...);void(0);
or:
mailto:xxx@xxx.xxx
Examples:
javascript:window.open ('http://www.website.com', null, 'height=200,width=300,toolbar=no');void(0);
javascript:alert ('this message will be displayed when the menu item is clicked')
Note that void(0); after a JavaScript call is needed for top-level menu items only.
Important: Please make sure you only use single-quote character (') instead of the double-quote character (") in JavaScript function parameters.
