Collecting Prospects Using Simple Autoresponder

Top  Previous  Next

The Opt-In and Opt-Out with a Sequential Autoresponder section describes how you can collect prospect information using a sequential autoresponder. You can use a simple autoresponder as well to create a database of email addresses.

Double-click the simple autoresponder’s icon and click the “Response Message” tab.

To tell the autoresponder to add the email addresses and names of the senders of the messages the autoresponder replies to, mark the check box labeled “Add the sender of the original message to the prospects database” (under “Actions” label).

In addition, you can mark the “Do not respond if the sender is in the prospects database” check box to ensure that no reply is sent if the sender’s email address is already in the prospects database. If you mark both this and the “Add the sender of the original message…” check box, only one reply will be sent to a given email address regardless of the number of messages that are sent to the autoresponder’s address.
