autoresponder A program that can send automatic replies to people who send emails to a particular email address.
bounced message See: delivery status notification
blacklist A list of domains or IP addresses of e-mailers suspected of sending spam.
CAPTCHA An image containing a numerical or alphabetic code that can normally only be read and interpreted by a human. It is used to verify a form or other log in on a website to prevent computers from spamming the form.
A notification you receive anytime the SMTP server cannot deliver an email message to its intended recipient. Common causes include invalid email addresses and the recipients exceeding maximum inbox size.
DNS A computer program running on a web server, translating domain names into IP addresses. See also: IP address

An email subscription practice that occurs when a user requests to be added to a mailing list list by submitting their email address.
The process by which a subscriber to your e-mail list chooses to no longer receive information and/or advertisements from your company or organization.
Parsing is the act whereby input text is scanned and filtered into structured form. In case of FollowUpExpert the test is broken up using parsing rules into pieces of text that are extracted from a message and can be used in subsequent messages (e.g. the reply to an incoming message).
