To open FollowUpExpert, click the “Start” button, click “All Programs”, select the “FollowUpExpert” folder, and click “FollowUpExpert”.
Demo Window
If you are running the demo version of the program the window entitled “FollowUpExpert Demo” will open right after you start FollowUpExpert. Click the “Evaluate” button or press the Esc key on your keyboard to close this window.
Note: Until you purchase the full version this window will pop up every time you open the program. You can click the “Buy Now” button at the bottom of the window to go directly to the order page.
After you start the full version of the program that has not been activated yet, a window entitled "FollowUpExpert Registration" is going to open to assist you in doing that. Type the registration key you have received after you made the purchase in the “Registration key” text box, and click the “Register” button.
If you lost your registration key please contact us via the following page:
Provide as much detail about your order as possible.
After you open the program for the first time, a window entitled “FollowUpExpert Setup” lets you configure a few basic options.
You can use this window to tell FollowUpExpert how often you want it to download new mail from your email accounts. Please note that this setting affects all your autoresponders and mailing lists. Imagine you set up the program to check for new messages every 60 minutes and have an autoresponder that says you are not in the office. If someone emails you, there will be a considerable delay before he or she finds out you are away.
If you want FollowUpExpert to start at Windows startup, turn on this option: "Start FollowUpExpert when system starts".
If you use a dial-up connection to the Internet, turn on the option labeled “Let me choose a dial-up connection to use for sending and receiving”, and click the “Next” button. Read the section entitled Dialling Up to learn how to configure the program to work with your dial-up connection.
If you are connecting to the Internet via a LAN (local network) or if you do not want FollowUpExpert to connect on its own, leave the option unchecked and click the “Finish” button.
You can change these settings later by clicking the “Options” toolbar button (see Using the Main Window).
Dialling Up
You can use this window to configure the way FollowUpExpert connects to the Internet to download new email messages, send follow-ups and newsletters, reply to incoming messages, and so on. If you are connected to the Internet via a LAN, all you need to do is make sure the option labeled “Never dial a connection” is on.
Select the dial-up connection you want the program to use, and click the “Set Default” button. Then turn on one of the following: “Dial whenever there is no connection” or “Always dial my default connection”. To make sure the program disconnects after it no longer needs to access the Internet, turn on the “Hang up after sending and receiving” option.
