Double-click the mailing list icon, and click the “Opt-In” tab. Click the “Form/Parsing” button. You will now need to repeat these steps for every piece of text you want to extract:
| 1. | Click “Add” to create a new parsing rule. |
| 2. | Type the name of the form field in the "Starts with" text box. It is case sensitive so you must enter the name of the field exactly as it appears in messages sent by the form (without ":"). |
| 3. | Use the "Save as" drop-down list to select the subscriber field to save extracted text to. |
Typical choices:
| • | "Email" -- save the value as email address of the new subscriber. |
| • | “Name” -- save the value as the name of the new subscriber. |
| • | "First-Name" -- save as the first name. |
| • | "Last-Name" -- well... the last name. |
| • | A custom field. To save the extracted text to a new custom field (e.g. Phone), type the name of the field into the "Save as" text box. After you click "OK", the program will ask you to confirm the creation of the new custom field. Click "OK". |
Hint: You may find it easier to use the "Manage Subscriber Fields" button if you want to add more than one custom field.
