Parsing (text extraction) doesn't work. How can I fix that?

Please do the following:
  1. Click the "Stop" toolbar button.
  2. Submit the form.
  3. Open the mailing list.
  4. Click the "Opt-in" tab.
  5. Click "Form/Parsing" and double-click the field that doesn't work or add a new one.
  6. Click "Import" > "Download sample message".
  7. Choose the message.

You should see text a fragment of which is going to look a bit like this:


Date: June 25, 2008
From: yourform@yourdomain.xxx
To: list@yourdomain.xxx
Subject: New submission

Name: John Smith

Email Address: john@somedomain.xxx
Phone: 12345 12345

Address:
25 Random Drive
9999 Chattanooga
Tennessee

IP: 123.123.123.123

(This is just an example; the message will look different depending on how your form sends the submitted details.

The program will now highlight the extracted text anytime you enter something into the "Starts from" text box, use a regular expression, and so on.

NOTE: After you submit the form, if the message doesn't arrive there it probably means there's some communication problem between the form and FollowUpExpert. Read this to learn more.
