If your mailing lists and autoresponders receive tons of spam messages, you may have FollowUpExpert responding to tons of useless email addresses.
To prevent that, I recommend using a spam filtering product with POP3 interface (such as ChoiceMail; for a nice review of spam filters visit this website).
FollowUpExpert comes with a simple filter that could help you get rid of a large percentage of messages though it's not as flexible as a proper spam filter.
Here's how you can use the filter:
- Click the "Options" toolbar button.
- Click the "Banned Content" tab.
- Add as many phrases found in spam as possible (such as "viagra", "v1gra", and so on).
This solution is far from perfect but it's free and with carefully crafted phrases you can remove many unwanted emails.
NOTE: Anything entered on that tab affects all mailing lists and autoresponders.
