missed blocked addresses with every upgrade

Postby freeflyer on Sat Oct 24, 2009 9:38 pm

Hi Martin,

Please, is there a way to upgrade to a new release without missing the blocked addresses? ( I just found I lost those addresses after installing the new release :( )

Again! :( Thanks for the report!

I'm not able to verify this (i.e. on my test machine it works perfectly by leaving the blocked addresses intact). Could you tell me from which version you upgraded? Do you remember the exact number?

Hi Martin,

You are welcome! I upgraded from 4.0.6 1992 FollowUpXpert Professional Edition to 4.0.6 2005.

I realized I had lost my blocked addresses when some ex-subscribers complained. It has happened for every upgrade :(. Fortunatelly I could easily recover most blocked addresses from a backup

Hi,

This is unforgivable, I'm very sorry about this. I realize how much trouble this may cost. :(

Is there a chance you could send me the backup from before you upgraded (via http://helpdesk.xtreeme.com)?

That's too bad! :( Are you still running this on an XP box?

No problem Martin. I run it on a Vostro 1710, Windows XP Professional, service pack 3. I did not want to use Vista and do not want to install Windows 7 yet. They say Win 7 is a little better than Vista but is well behind XP.

I agree as far as Vista is concerned. I'm not able to repro this issue here. :( I'll try to work on it some more; perhaps there's a workaround for this. Thank you very much for all the feedback you gave me.

You are welcome Martin! Out of curiosity: are you running it on Windows 7?

Could I ask of you to send me the blocked.db3 file (to my email address - martinb@xtreeme.com)? I'd like to see if there's anything special about it, if possible. Thank you so much in advance!
