Uploading site map to Front Page site

Postby John Cassian on Sun Nov 30, 2008 1:42 am

I created and saved a site map created with the standard version. The site map file is saved on my C drive. My FrontPage web site is hosted be Verio. I read about FTP and publishing the site map, and all the tutorials you have, and I searched the Forum for help on publishing and Front Page, but I do not understand what to do next. If someone could give a complete novice some help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much.

Hello,

When you save your SiteXpert project (as an .sx file) it is so you can use it again in the future. If you want to generate your site map, you need to set up a few options in the Output panel of the Options dialog.

First of all, you can choose whether you want to generate your site map to a local folder or automatically upload it via FTP (option at the top of the Output tab). Next, you can choose to create a simple HTML code that next you can add to your web page or for example, a PHP include. At last, you need to specify folders and their HTTP equivalents. Here you type the main page name and where it should be saved (local folder or FTP path), folder for images and its HTTP equivalent that will be used in the code, and also folder and its URL for script files.

Once you click the Generate button in the toolbar, your site map should be generated according to the specified options.
Best regards,

Thanks a lot. I think you provided me with the information I can understand! If I get stuck I will come back, but I am sure you helped me get on down the road -- thank you very much.
