FollowUpExpert Questions

Postby Prodis on Sat Dec 22, 2007 9:16 am

I want to make sure FollowUpExpert will do what I want it to.

Here’s what I want to do:
Set up a sequential autoresponder.
Use several smtp mail accounts with different throttle settings each for that autoresponder and possibly add more later.

If one smtp mail server fails, will it automatically switch to another.

At the end of the sequence, can I make it so the prospects automatically upgrade to a new autoresponder?

Can I make a single reply to address for the autoresponder regardless of which mail account it was sent by?

Can there be a clickable link for a one click unsubscribe?

Can there be a text email backup in case the html isn’t deliverable?

Thank you,
Chris

You can use up to two SMTP servers per one autoresponder.

If one smtp mail server fails, will it automatically switch to another.

Yes.

At the end of the sequence, can I make it so the prospects automatically upgrade to a new autoresponder?

No, this is not supported yet.

Can I make a single reply to address for the autoresponder regardless of which mail account it was sent by?

Yes, you can use the "Reply-To:" text box to override the address.

Can there be a clickable link for a one click unsubscribe?

Yes, you can use a PHP script on your website:

Can there be a text email backup in case the html isn’t deliverable?

Yes, the program automatically creates the text version based on the HTML.

I can see a way of doing this even though it is not a feature as far as I can see.

BCC the last email in your sequence to be picked up by another autoresponder sequence.
That sequence is looking for the subject of the final email.
Embed the email address and name etc into that email so the text can be parsed for a new subscriber and you
have the subscriber transferred to the new list.

I haven't tried it but cant see why it wouldn't work.

The html text version is not created automatically in my case.
What is the problem?

Hi,

It works the other way round, I'm sorry if I created confusion by my reply above.

The program creates plain text version based on HTML. If you send plain text, no HTML is going to be sent. Creating HTML makes no sense in this case because there's no formatting and it would double the size of the message.

Please let me know if you need more details.
