What's MailXpert all about?

MailXpert is a mailing list server with advanced email processing capabilities running on Windows NT/2000 and Windows 95/98/Me operating systems. MailXpert aims to be easily configurable and flexible at the same time. Ease of use is achived through three built-in wizards you can use to create basic types of email services out of the box by answering a couple of basic questions. To ensure flexibility, MailXpert is based on message rules; after email messages have been downloaded from designated mail servers, they are matched against a set of rules and depending on chosen conditions, appropriate actions are taken. The actions may include adding the sender of the message to the list of subscribers, replying to the message, personalizing and forwarding the message to a list of recipients and so on. Wizards work by generating a set of rules implementing selected email service; the rules may later be tailored to fit specific needs. This very scheme works for every type of email service from support forum to news board to auto responder making it easier to learn to use the program; each email service type differs only by the set of rules generated by the specific wizard. This way you will be able to invent and create new types of email services the authors of MailXpert didn't have a chance to anticipate or add advanced features to the basic services created by the wizards.

Why do I need a mailing list?

There are many possible reasons to run a mailing list. MailXpert can be used both for commercial (product support, email marketing etc.) mailing lists and non-commercial purposes. The fact that you are reading this indicates that you may have a pretty good idea for a mailing list already. Anyway, here's a couple of examples of how MailXpert can be useful for you.

Support your product

Telephone support is both expensive and inconvenient both for you and for your customers. Most of the problems with telephone support are time-related. Perfect support, according to your customers, should be 24/7 and free. Running a support mailing list can be. Plus, unlike the telephone support, you customers can control their time spent using the support; they can take a break at any time, have a cup of coffee and get back when it’s best suitable for them. With another person on the phone it’s not exactly that easy.

It’s also easier for your support staff. They can respond to questions when it’s most convenient. The quality of the support is also higher because they simply have more time to research the answer; they can talk to development team to make the answers as in-depth as it’s necessary and so on.

On top of that, running a mailing list helps you develop a community among your customers. This happens due to the interactive nature of the medium. The users can help each other, share experience and provide you with continuous feedback so you can improve your product.

Keep your customers updated

Mailing lists are an excellent means of notifying your customers of releases, changes to your web site, new offers and updates and patches. With MailXpert you can simply run the Updates/News Board Wizard to create a news board, import your customers’ email addresses from an external file and your mailing list is up and running. You can then use your favorite mail client software to create messages that will be distributed to all subscribers. And your customers will have an easy way to get removed from the mailing list if they wish to.

Create a discussion forum

Running a discussion forum creates a chance for the people sharing the same interest or a hobby to “meet”, share their knowledge and make friends with people from all over the world. Running a company-sponsored discussion forum is a great way of building mark-awareness among your potential customers.
