Here's the Digest Properties dialog box:



In the Default subject text box enter the subject you'll see when you click on the Digest toolbar button. Below there's the Digest header text box you can use to define text that will appear in the header of each digest. Contents of TOC item define text displayed once per each digested message in the table of contents of the digest. Table of contents is located in the message body right after the digest header. Contents of the Message header text box are displayed once per each digested message right before its body.

In all these text boxes you can use all built-in and custom data fields. The message-related data fields, for instance $(From-First-Name), apply to each digested message and not to the digest message itself when used within the TOC item and Message header text box. They apply to the digest message as a whole when used in Default subject and Digest header. There are also additional digest-specific data fields you may use: $(Digest-Creation-Date) (when the digest was created), $(Message-Number) (message's number in the digest) and $(Date) (date a digested message was sent). The last two of the fields can only be used within TOC item and Message header.
