Portal interface options
Portal interface has two different ways of displaying subfolders (as in www.yahoo.com): front view and bulleted list view. Front view is usually used with
top-level folders. Portal interface is a very specific style as far as font formatting is concerned because there is no such thing as level in this style. Therefore, font levels have
a different meaning for the portal interface style:
Number of columns - Determines number of folder columns in both views. Files are always displayed in a single column.
Column width - Determines the width of folder columns.
Space between columns - Determines horizontal space between folder columns.
Display folders in list starting from level - As mentioned before portal interface has two different ways of displaying
subfolders: front view and bulleted list. By default, folders starting from level two are displayed in a bulleted list. You may change this
default behavior by setting this option. Set it to one to always use the bulleted list view or to a large value (like 100) to always use the front view.
Use bullets for folder and item lists - You may choose not to use bullets in file and folder lists.
This option has no effect on folders whose level is lower than the one specified in 'Display folders in list starting from level...'.
Display number of items in folder list - Select this option to display total number of subfolders next to folders in a bulleted list.
Insert vertical space between files - Set this option if you want files to be separated by a vertical space.
Display folders sorted alphabetically - Set this option if you always want folders to be sorted alphabetically
no matter what their order in the layout view is.
Normally in the front view a few subfolders of folders are also displayed. By changing their order in the layout view you can make SiteXpert
display them in any order you want. This is useful if you want users to see only the most important subfolders.
Show location history - Choose this option to display all parents of the chosen folder. This option is recommended so
users have an easy way to go back in the tree hierarchy and choose a different path.
Location history separator - This character (or string) will be used to separate folder names in location history (eg. the '>' character
will output: Home > Computers > Software).
Top-level history item name - Name of the top-level folder in location history, usually 'Home', 'Top', or 'Start'.
Rules for displaying subfolders - This option determines how many subfolders
will be displayed in front view. This number may depend
on character length of subfolders or number of subfolders. If not all subfolders are displayed, the text '...' will be displayed next to the
subfolder list. You may choose not to display subfolders at all.
