Question ID: Q1039
Question: Can the sitemaps use other character sets / languages using special characters or another alphabet?
Product: Sitexpert

The sitemaps can only use 8-bit (ASCII) character sets. They will not work with the Unicode (UTF-8) format. If you want to use other characters, all you need is to specify the encoding using the tag, e.g.:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1251">

You should insert this meta tag in the head section of the webpage containing the sitemap. You can use a template file or the 'additional head tags' window (options/content) in order to have the program add this code for you automatically. When entering sitemap item texts, you will also need to use the same encoding.
