The FTP tool is very persistent and will upload the website even on a very unreliable Internet connection retrying as many times it is necessary.

Furthermore, it goes to great lengths to ensure that the switch over to the new version of the website is as painless as possible by uploading the files under temporary names first and only after all files are on the server renames them all to their 'real' file names.

So even if your Internet connection hangs up or fails in the middle of the upload the previous version of your website will still be there.
